Patient Experience Specialist (Administrative) — Marin County and San Francisco 

Full-Time, 4 days per week (2 days in each location)

We are looking to hire an energetic and passionate person to join our team working collaboratively across multiple departments and functions.

Patient Engagement Responsibilities

  • Create best in class, meaningful member experiences for our patients in person, over the phone, and through all communications.
  • Manage the incoming lead process from initial contact through to follow-up care.
  • Professionally answer calls, respond to emails, and ensure clear, empathetic communication with patients and team.
  • Schedule appointments, support patients on billing issues, remind patients of their upcoming visits.
  • Support all members of the team in providing an amazing patient experience.

Administrative Responsibilities

  • Manage multi-site office inventory.
  • Manage a virtual phone system.
  • Schedule and coordinate staff and other meetings.
  • Perform opening and closing duties/daily office upkeep as required, including maintaining the look and feel of both patient and employee-facing spaces.
  • Manage patient accounts using Salesforce, G-Suite, and Epic EMR.
  • Support the implementation of scalable processes for all aspects of a clinical practice.
  • Own projects and consistently follow-through to make sure they are completed in a timely fashion and with the utmost care and attention to detail.

Qualities

  • Personal initiative, self-motivation, hands-on style, and strong work ethic.

Experience and Education

  • Experience providing a high level of customer service.
  • Proficiency in computer technology such as typing, navigating the internet, and using multiple software systems simultaneously.
  • Experience with Epic EMR is a plus.
  • Experience with food allergies is a plus.
  • Experience working at a progressive medical practice (e.g., One Medical, Carbon Health, etc.) is a plus.
  • High School diploma or equivalent. BA/BS degree preferred or commensurate experience.

Preferred / Desired 

  • Experience working with children 
  • Ability to work temporarily in Redwood City for training

Medical Assistant or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) — Marin County and San Francisco

Full-Time, 4 days per week (2 days in each location)

We are looking to hire an energetic and passionate person to join our team working collaboratively across multiple departments and functions.

Responsibilities and duties 

  • Set up and break down patient exam rooms prior to patient arrival
  • Escort patient to exam room and prepare them for procedure and/or exam (obtain vitals, past/present medical history and current medication list)
  • Perform spirometry (on hold due to pandemic)
  • Compile skin prick testing by following proper protocol and documenting results in EHR
  • Food challenges – assist in administering doses and monitoring closely for reactions
  • Measuring doses of various flours, butters, and foods for food challenges
  • Administer allergy medications to patients including antihistamines and Epinephrine
  • Perform a variety of both front and back office patient care activities in order to assist the providers and front office staff
  • Schedule follow up appointments
  • Prepare documents prior to patient arrival to ensure smooth clinic flow
  • Manage inventory

Skills and Knowledge

  • Knowledge of examination, diagnostic, and injection procedures, and/or education as directed by the provider
  • Knowledge of basic medical terminology
  • Skill in assisting in a variety of treatments and medications as directed
  • Experience giving subcutaneous injections
  • Understanding of common safety hazards and precautions to maintain a safe work environment using OSHA requirements including universal precautions and sharps disposal guidelines
  • Experience with electronic medical records systems (familiarity with Epic is a plus)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to maintain effective working relationship with patients and medical team 
  • Comfortable interacting with a diverse population
  • Ability to react calmly and effectively in a difficult or emergent situation

The ideal candidate will have experience in the diagnosis and management of food allergies in all age groups, and will also demonstrate a patient-centered approach that is delivered with the highest level of compassion.

Requirements

  • M.D. or D.O.
